Exmouth & District Community Transport Group
This is a local charity that provides ‘Ring & Ride’ transport for disabled and elderly people within our community for shopping and day care also transport for lone parents or young people in our rural villages
We serve the area comprising Exmouth, Lympstone, Woodbury, Newton Poppleford, Colaton Raleigh, Clyst St Mary, Otterton, East Budleigh and Budleigh Salterton.
The service is for people who are unable to use a conventional bus because of a medical condition, in a wheelchair, or live in an isolated rural area with no public transport, to do their own shopping or meet a friend for coffee. We use tail-lift minibuses with very small steps, that picks people up at their own front door and returns them there. They can bring a friend to help. We charge a return fare for each passenger and the driver will help with getting on and off the bus or with their shopping. This has been extended to the rural villages for lone parents or young people who cannot access public transport.
Journeys have to be booked the day before as seats can be removed to allow wheelchairs to be carried. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays it goes to Exmouth Shopping Centre or Tescos.
On Wednesdays we provide an excursion to either Exeter (Bedford Street or to the Exeter Shopmobility Scheme) or Market Square, Sidmouth . This is for people in our whole service area. We do organise various trips to flower festivals, local events or outings that are advertised to our passengers.
