Rolle College Campus site
The closure of Rolle College will result in a loss to the economy of Exmouth of approximately £4 million. Exmouth Community College led by Chairman of Governors, Liz Lee and Principal,Tony Alexander have agreed with the Governors a 'vision' for the campus site posted on this website.
The other land owned by Plymouth University in Exmouth will be sold and a development brief is being prepared. East Devon District Council will expect it to be consistent with the agreed East Devon Local Plan. Jill Elson is supporting the view that East Devon will require 40% affordable housing, playing fields to be transferred to EDDC with a maintenance grant as they can be accessed by foot from Maer Road car park and hopes that land will be made available for The Beacon Primary School so that it can be relocated within the Littleham Parish.
A delegation of Hugo Swire MP, Ray Davison Vice Chairman of Exmouth Community College Governors, Jill Elson Governor and tony Alexander Principal with Ken Turner the Independent Chairman of the partnership Group are going to London to meet Lord Triesman, the Under-Secretary of State for Intellectual Property and Quality at the Department of Innovations and Skills on Thursday 26th July at 4 pm.
